Thanksgiving!
Hey everybody, I'm leaving tomorrow (Tuesday) to meet my niece Flicka for the first time. Then I'm on to Thanksgiving from there, so this is my only day at lunch today. Hope to see you all there!

Unsure
I'm not sure if I'll be at lunch today. We have some moving project that may or may not come in right around that time, but I'm guessing I'll be able to get away.
I know that's not a very maverick way of declaring my lunch status, but it is kind of rogue, no?

Going Rogue!
Back during my days as a sandwich maker in the McCain campaign, Steve Schmidt and the Senator's other top advisers repeatedly told me to stay "on message" (e.g., tenderloins in IA, Philly cheese-steaks in PA, etc), but like I always say: "You can put lipstick on a pit-bull, but eventually he's gonna bite back, you betcha!"Sure enough, one day after clipping some coupons, I decided to buy some turkey, provolone, alfalfa sprouts, onion, avocado and horseradish and slap em all atop 2 slices of bread, which is a non-business-as-usual creation I like to call the "Maverick Sandwich". Well wouldn't you know, the McCain campaign just flipped & accused me of "going rogue." And of course the Liberal Media jumped in, too, calling the Maverick Sandwich an "unthinkably disgusting combination of ingredients."
Well, as anyone who reads "all of them" newspapers like me can tell you, the McCain campaign ended up losing to the campaign to that commie-loving, grandmother-killing immigrant, Barack Osama. But things will be different in 2012, you hear, and that's why I've launched my new book: Going Rogue: an American Cookbook, featuring recipes for meals like the Maverick Sandwich with Freedom Fries and other liberty-loving dishes.
For a sneak peak of the Maverick Sandwich, come to EMRB today!

Heater
I will be at lunch today to escape the loud clicking and banging noises created by our heater in my office. It sounds like a shipping yard in here. I actually kind of like it though.

To continue the theme, more hilarious cat video
Not sure how I feel about the ones with cats falling off of stuff, but cats always land on their feet, so it's okay to laugh, right?
I'll be at lunch, though may be a little late.

Kitten Mittens
This is from one of my favorite shows, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Sadly, many people seem to have been inspired to put similar mittens on their own cats and post videos, which is probably animal abuse (but funny abuse).
Is Your Cat 2 Pro-Lit 2 Kwit?
I know this video will be of interest to Hans, and maybe to Sean as well (if he's followed through on my advice that he rescue a kitten in order to impress the ladies!):
Now then, if you still have an appetite, please join me today for lunch!

And I Thought I Took the News Badly...
You guys have perhaps seen alternate versions of this recent YouTube craze -- in which the subtitles to a scene from the film Downfall are altered to parody various current events. This particular version is, of course, my favorite:
I'm currently having an acid trip to (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, so I may be a bit late to lunch, but I will be there!

Sorry for the unannounced absence yesterday y'all. But I will be at EMRB today. Will you?

Terminator Rap
Ok, so this video is pretty much for Bill, but my invitation to lunch is for everyone.

Follow-up
For those of you in attendance Friday, I made the bold and unsubstantiated claim that a hoosier was a dog of some sort. And you all seemed to believe me. I couldn't have been more wrong. It's actually just the term for a person from Indiana. It has some interesting etymology, but it's definitely not in reference to any dog. Sorry!
I'll be at lunch though, spewing more inaccurate facts.
